The F/A-18 SEIT team has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer (Senior) to support the F/A-18 international programs in Hazelwood, Missouri. The Project Engineer partners with program management, avionics integrators, and logistics integrators to develop holistic sustainment solutions to international customers.  The Project Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for all air vehicle engineering issues and general support activities for the F/A-18 international customers and the US Navy program office.   

This is an excellent customer-facing opportunity to gain experience interfacing with diverse customers, partner with program management to achieve program objectives, demonstrate leadership skills, and expand professional networks. As part of an experienced small team, you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of aircraft program sustainment. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. A strong dedication to customer satisfaction is essential as well as the ability to effectively team with Boeing IPTs, customers, and suppliers.  Aircraft structural analysis experience and experience managing projects is required.  Knowledge of the F/A-18 aircraft systems, understanding of the in-service engineering process, knowledge of the Foreign Military Sales process, and familiarity with export and contract requirements are preferred.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Work directly with US Navy and international customers to understand airframe/aero-structure issues and develop solutions with the support of the Boeing Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to meet or exceed international country requirements
  • Facilitate tasking and communication with Boeing, US Navy, and foreign military customers in support of international country F/A-18 program objectives and ensure all Air Vehicle engineering issues are being addressed
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, including avionics and logistics integrators, engineering IPTs, Contracts, and Export
  • Respond to requests for support service estimates, technical information, and other queries
  • Assist in resolving problems generated during flight operations and maintenance activities
  • Deliver CDRLs and other customer requirements
  • Manage problem investigations, tracking, reporting and resolution
  • Participate in In-Service Support Reviews (ISSRs), Technical Coordination Meetings (TCMs), and other meetings as required
  • Some International and domestic travel is required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):   

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience with structural/airframe engineering on the FA-18 or other tactical aircraft
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating the operational aspects of ongoing projects, and serving as liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling, and management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience working on proposals and/or estimates
  • 1+ years of experience with Application Security, Export, Global Trade Control requirements

Summary Pay Range: $114,750 - $155,250
