Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Network Administrator to join our Networks and Computing IT team supporting classified programs.  

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing network devices, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of network security principles. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a secure, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and call manager systems.
  • Ensure high availability and secure connectivity across mission-critical environments.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal availability and security.
  • Support network access control, user authentication, and segmentation in compliance with security policies and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement network security controls, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
  • Assist with network capacity planning, upgrades, and documentation to support evolving program requirements.
  • Participate in system provisioning, patch management, and configuration backups.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other IT teams.
  • Maintain compliance with DoD security standards such as JSIG RMF and STIGs.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with emerging network technologies and security best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • TS/SCI OR successful completion of a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years.
  • Eligibility for SAP access.
  • Minimum years of related experience: 1+ for level 2, 3+ for level 3.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches and Cisco IOS implementations.
  • If not already within commuting distance of the worksite, willingness and ability to relocate at own expense.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience administering enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with layered network protocols.
  • Experience supporting classified or Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • Familiarity with network automation and orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and logging tools (e.g., SNMP, Nagios, SIEM).
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments.
  • Security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks such as RMF, JSIG, and STIGs.

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate (level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range

Associate (level 2): $83,300 - $112,700

Experienced (level 3): $102,850 - $139,150
