Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Quality Specialist (Mid-Level or Senior) to support the Strategic Deterrence Systems team at Hill AFB, UT!

This position will provide Quality support to shop, program, and field sites as needed. Duties will include proactively reviewing and advising on contracts to ensure quality requirements are met according to FAR/DFAR regulations. As a focal for program managers, this position will work cross-functionally with quality and engineering teams to promote Early Quality Initiatives and production.

Position Responsibilities (Associate: Level 2):

  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.

  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.

  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 3:

  • Reviews proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development.

  • Prepares and maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.

  • Analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems.

  • Participates with stakeholders to develop potential preventive or corrective actions and implementation.

  • Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics, to continuously improve process capability.

  • Conducts quality source selection and process reviews of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions, and develops a coordinated response for management review and approval.

  • Conducts hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and reports results to management.

  • Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.

  • Works under general direction.

Level 4:

  • Leads Quality reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development.

  • Develops Quality budget and cost estimates. Leads multi-function, multi-site groups to develop company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.

  • Leads stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions.

  • Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics to continuously improve process capability.

  • Conducts quality source selection and process capability assessments of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions.

  • Develops Quality criteria for supplier source selection and a coordinated response for review and approval by senior management.

  • Develops scope, schedule, plans and leads hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements, and reports results to management.

  • Trains senior management on preparation for third party audits.

  • Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for complex nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.

  • Assists in the development of new standard repairs for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.

  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

  • More than 1 year of experience working with First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)

  • More than 1 year of experience working in a quality job role

  • More than 1 year of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts

  • More than 3 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • More than 1 year of experience supporting reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

  • Experience in Nonconformance Processing

  • More than 1 year of experience working with regulatory agencies (DCMA, FAA, and/or Military)

  • More than 3 years of experience working with Quality Management Systems

  • More than 3 years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts

Additional Information:

This position may require travel locally between Hill AFB and Layton, UT locations.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for mid-level (level 3) USD: 80,750 -109,250

Summary Pay Range for senior level (level 4): USD 100,300 - 135,700
