Join the International Space Station (ISS) Program and support the only laboratory orbiting more than 200 miles above earth where crew have been living and working since October 2000!  The Structural Integrity team is responsible for sustaining the United States hardware, including pressurized modules, truss segments, solar arrays, etc. We are currently seeking an Entry or Associates Level Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs structural analyses (e.g. strength, stability) using analytical (e.g. hand calculations, in-house tools) and numerical (finite element model) methods. 

  • Assesses hardware capability against requirements. 

  • Evaluates and attempts to extend structural life (e.g. fatigue & fracture analyses). 

  • Coordinates analysis inputs, approaches, and case matrices with adjacent disciplines. 

  • Documents and presents results to peers, management, and/or NASA customers. 

  • Develops new and/or enhances existing tools/codes to optimize and automate processes.

In addition to the ISS Program, the Structural Integrity team supports multiple other programs across the company.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Associate level 2: Typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with technical and creative problem solving

  • Experience with Structural Analysis, Fracture and Fatigue

  • Experience with NASTR

  • Experience with NASTRAN/Abaqus
  • Experience with CAD Software (NX, CATIA)
  • Experience with Matlab and Python Programming

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Entry level 1 Summary pay range: $ 69,700 - $ 94,300

Associate level 2 Summary pay range: $ 81,600 - $ 110,400
