The Boeing Company is looking for aStructural Design K-Level Manager  to join the Advanced Structural Concepts team in Huntington Beach CA.

This role requires engineering knowledge of vehicle design and integration. composite material design and production, structural arrangement and optimization, and experience with design requirements and objectives across the product life cycle phases. This role also includes design oversight for high temperature and cryogenic structures, structures that experience steep thermal gradients and/or large thermal transients with dissimilar materials with varying CTEs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages Design Team in the development, integration, and transition of advanced structural concepts and technology for commercial aircraft, military aircraft, rotorcraft, space vehicles, UAVs, and advanced vehicle prototypes.
  • Responsible for the management, execution, and growth of contracted and internally funded research and development projects. Oversees planning and execution of project schedules, finances, and deliverables.
  • Develops, maintains, and grows relationships with peers, direct reports, stakeholders, government organizations, industry partners, and universities.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees. Leads process improvements and sets operational goals
  • Collaborate with other organizations, such as Business Development, Contracts, Finance, Supplier Management, and Human Resources

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with designing for performance, cost, producibility.
  • Experience in shaping, proposing, and capturing CRAD and Global Technology opportunities. Experience in developing internal research projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and execution skills
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating teammates

Travel:

Up to 25% of time

Summary Pay Range: $147,050 - $198,950
