Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Supplier Quality Specialists (Level 3 or Level 4) to join the Americas-Southwest team in Orange County, California. This role requires travel to supplier facilities in the greater Orange County area, as well as occasional domestic travel based on business needs.

 The BCA Supplier Quality organization is responsible for oversight of the suppliers’ QMS, evaluating product quality improvement plans and driving cross-functional joint efforts in the right direction. Our responsibility is based on our QMS and our contracts with our suppliers, to ensure that all our products meet our type designs and get there with proper compliance. 

Our team members enjoy and meet the challenges of working remotely, with a requirement to travel up to 25% of the time.  Our team members recognize and appreciate the autonomy, trust and judgment granted to them, to ensure the oversight of our suppliers. 

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Career (Level 3) and Expert (Level 4) Supplier Quality Specialists. 

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Plans, organizes, and conducts onsite audits of Boeing procured material, parts, and assemblies  

  • Applies knowledge of materials, and special processes to assess supplier capability and capacity to perform and complies with Boeing specifications, engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements  

  • Create presentations and presents to senior management at suppliers and Boeing.  

  • Practices root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective action to prevent recurrence of issues  

  • Provides mentoring and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives  

  • Conducts source inspections and delegates product acceptance responsibility to suppliers  

  • Assesses capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work  

  • Develop training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity  

  • Recognizes/Identifies risks and holds suppliers accountable for the mitigation of those risks  

  • Supports external conformities  

  • Exhibits an extremely high level of Emotional Intelligence  

  • Protects the Boeing brand in word and deed  

  This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will require the selected candidate to reside in the Orange County, California area. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):  

  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management  

  • 3+ years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)  

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) 

  • 1+ years of experience in performing product inspection 

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time  

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):   

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience  

  • 5+ years of experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills   

  • 3+ years of experience with project leadership leading cross-functional teams  

  • Experience working with structures and machining 

  • Proficient in MS Office tool suite and project management software tools  

  • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as FMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA  

  • Experience with the application of improvement methodologies such as Lean, Theory of Constraints and/or Six Sigma to achieve measurable results   

  • Highly self-motivated individuals with excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills  

  • Use of a personal vehicle, when required for company business, would be reimbursed at mileage rate per applicable company policy

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (Level 3): $106,250 - $143,750 

Summary pay range (Level 4): $130,050 - $175,950
