Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Associate, Experienced or Lead Industrial Engineer to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This position will support the production rate increase and advanced technology upgrade activities. This role will be involved in production support activities as well as continuous development projects improving manufacturing and factory improvement and optimization.  The Industrial Engineer will also participate in site wide initiatives with larger impact than just the PAC3 program.

Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.

Shift Work Statement: This position is for A (1st) Shift. (M-Th; 4x10)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and application of advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements

  • Consults on the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and workflows

  • Recommends new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations

  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel

  • Establishes standards for workflow design and analysis

  • Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics to solve complex problems and provide consultation to senior leadership and customers

  • Directs research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of complex processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization

  • Consults on plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods

  • Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.

  • Oversees operations planning, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met

  • Manages execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices

  • Consults on production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support for a program

  • Teach, Develop, and Mentor Junior Engineers

  • Initiates compliance actions to align to established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 2+ years of experience using lean principles

  • 2+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data

  • 2+ years of experience managing projects and/or teams

  • 2+ years of experience developing and deploying standards and standard processes

  • Experience developing metrics and using metrics to drive results and improve the business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated, resource-loaded project plans to describe and manage subject statement of work project content, sequencing, timing / duration, and dependencies.

  • Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing operations in an industrial engineering role utilizing industrial engineering methods, processes, and tools.

  • 2+ years of experience working in Aerospace/Defense manufacturing

  • 2+ years of experience working with Electrical/Electronic manufacturing

  • Experience with rate increase of existing programs

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range:

Associate (Level 2): $72,250 - $97,750

Experienced (Level 3): $86,700 - $117,300

Lead (Level 4): $102,850 - $139,150
