The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level System Administrator to join the team in Kent, WA; Everett, WA; Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; or Tukwila, WA.

The Boeing Enterprise Security Red Team is looking for an experienced server administrator to join our team in a lab manger role. The position involves maintaining and optimizing a small server lab.

Successful candidates must have strong foundational knowledge and working proficiency in both Windows and Linux server administration on both physical and virtual servers. 

The lab manager will also support and assist the Red Team members in building and administration of penetration testing environments (e.g., command and control infrastructure).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration, and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture

  • Provide problem resolution and technical support for shared infrastructure and services

  • Provide support for the design, validation, and configuration management of computing systems

  • Administer user access through Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory (AD)

  • Protect information in accordance with security requirements

  • Monitor system performance to support capacity, backup, and disaster recovery planning

  • Maintain lab infrastructure (compliance, patching, updates, server builds, etc.)

  • Support Red Teaming activities

  • Remain up to date on current and emerging technologies, pen testing tools and, and security vulnerabilities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of documented work experience as a system administrator on Windows and Linux server operating systems

  • 1+ years of experience documenting scripting in Python, PHP, Perl, bash, PowerShell, etc.

  • Experience with the development and administration of hypervisor frameworks system (Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), ProxMox)

  • Experience with networking, routing, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), etc.

  • Experience with Firewall administration and rule changes

  • Experience with establishment and administration of a Cloud (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure) environment

  • Experience with common network protocols such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol/Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure/Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with penetrating testing and vulnerability assessment principles

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible)

  • Experience with Containers (i.e., Docker, Linux Containers (LXC), Open Container Initiative (OCI)) 

  • Experience with security vulnerabilities and remediations

  • Experience with secure software development lifecycle and large-scale computing environments

  • Experience with information security principles, policies, and industry best practices including the Center for Internet Security Control (CIS) Critical Security Controls, OWASP Top 10 and Mitre ATT&CK framework

  • Experience with Authentication and Authorization Controls

  • Experience with common server applications such as Internet Information Services (IIS), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Secure Shell (SSH), and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

  • Experience with common Red Team/Pentest server applications such as Bloodhound & Hashcat

  • Experience conducting technical research

  • Experience with cloud -based architectures

  • Experience with strong written and verbal communication skills

Summary pay range: $102,850 – $139,150
