The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer (Mid-Level Computing & Display Subsystems Engineer) to support the Mission Computing Display Sub-Systems Team in Tukwila, WA.

This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining hardware across the full development lifecycle for government and international programs. The ideal candidate will have Systems Engineering experience, knowledge of the full development lifecycle, strong judgment, decision-making, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills. You will translate customer requirements into technical solutions and optimize Mission Computing Hardware for system integration.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft developed for the U.S. Navy, based on the Boeing 737 Next Generation airliner. It supports anti-submarine, anti-surface warfare, and ISR missions, equipped with torpedoes, missiles, and sonobuoy deployment capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate requirements for various complex computing network systems.
  • Develop and validate requirements for electrical/electronic systems and interconnects.
  • Ability to integrate complex subsystems architectures and components into higher level systems and platforms.
  • Perform complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Define and conduct critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.
  • Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
  • Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule, and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
  • Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
  • Self-starter with the ability to investigate details related to equipment currently used in the fleet.

This position will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA with occasional travel to Kent, WA location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 
  • 5 or more years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience with design, integration, and test of electrical systems 
  • Experienced Technical Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the aviation and aerospace industry 
  • Experience with ethernet networks
  • Experience with electronics laboratory instrumentation 
  • Experience with product configuration management 
  • Experience with ethernet networks, digital, power and analog test systems 
  • Experience effectively communicating and collaborating with multi-discipline teams

Summary Pay Range: $119,850-$162,150
