Boeing Ukraine is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join the Production Engineering team, which support various Boeing Commercial Airplanes Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.

  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans.

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.

  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies.

  • Supports other team members as mentor/checker to meet engineering commitments.

  • Represents the team by providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.


In addition, performs Team Leader responsibilities in accordance with team RAA, including the following:

  • Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative working environment.

  • Advise and coach team members, facilitating their professional growth and skill development.

  • Prioritize workload and allocate resources based on project requirements and organizational goals.

  • Oversee and check team's deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

  • Lead technical discussions, provide insights, and make informed decisions to solve complex engineering challenges.

  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration

  • Clearly communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders and upper management.

  • Drive process improvements within the team, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science with 3+ years of working experience.

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret Engineering documentation - Engineering drawings and Specifications; including knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing principles and standards (ISO, ASME, GOST/DSTU etc).

  • Ability to support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle.

  • Advanced knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing, machines, tools capabilities, and data needed for defining delivery configurations. Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies for the highest producibility using process improvement methodologies  (e.g., statistical process control [SPC], 6-Sigma etc.).

  • Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., Concurrent Engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]). 

  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures for certification of aircraft, including Federal Aviation Authority [FAA] and foreign regulatory agency (e.g., EASA) requirements.

  • Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.

  • Knowledge of PLM/PDM and Configuration Management principles.

  • English language level – solid communicator, advanced level in both written and verbal English.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience on Boeing Manufacturing Engineering projects.

  • Has experience of leading a group of 1-3 or more people at fulfillment of projects of various complexity.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ASME Y14.5-2018, ASME Y14.5-2009 standards.

  • Knowledge of aerospace products development lifecycle, build plan artifacts, and Lean production system principles.

  • Knowledge of supplier assessment processes including supplier's past performance, business processes, capacity plan, statement of work evaluation, risk mitigation plan, capabilities and Lean practices in order to rate supplier viability to support the Boeing goals and objectives.
