BGS is seeking several C-17 Systems Safety Engineer in Long Beach, California.  This role will be part of the C-17 Systems Safety team, responsible for performing safety analyses utilizing various risk analysis tools and engineering systems knowledge. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a high degree of technical competency. The selected candidate will work across all areas of engineering, as well as interacting with senior leadership and customer representatives to communicate technical information.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Mid-Level or Senior C-17 Systems Safety Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering and management principles, criteria, and techniques to achieve acceptable risk within the constraints of operational effectiveness and suitability, time, and cost throughout all phases of the system life-cycle
  • Identify potential hazards and assess likelihood and severity of system risks
  • Review engineering design specifications, test operations, change proposals, product and lab safety systemic risks and hazards
  • Develop and implement safety plans, procedures, and protocols
  • Support resolution of cross-functional technical issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2 years’ engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience working on military aircraft
  • Experience with systems safety disciplines

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range Associate: $87,550 - $118,450

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level: $104,550 - $141,450

Summary Pay Range Senior: $128,350 - $173,650
