Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Digital Transformation - Product Lifecycle Management team, located in Long Beach, CA or Huntsville, Al or St. Louis, MO.    

The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for working across varied Engineering and Information Technology teams to define, develop, and integrate the needed Support & Services capabilities required for the BDS/BGS Sapphire bedrock system of systems. Sapphire offers innovative new capabilities that transform how we deliver value to our government customers through seamless integration and digital threads. Additionally, this position will support, and interface, with other BGS bedrock developmental systems to include OpsCenter and ERP. This position offers exposure to a wide range of technical disciplines across all phases of the product life cycle (from design through delivery).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers.
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
  • Identifies and manages changes to SOW and assesses the impact of those changes and incorporates changes into statement of work.
  • Supports new project development and leads project execution by identifying activities, resources and events required to complete the work statement.
  • Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program. Identifies and defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned. Implements corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of the project or team plan. 
  • Defines and executes test plans for integration verification, data integrity, and performance, engages in system integration testing and support system acceptance testing.
  • Prepares program briefings, status reports, and technical deliverables.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 10 + years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience as a technical leader in designing and developing solutions that span Systems Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management, and/or Product Support Engineering.
  • Previous experience in using Siemens Teamcenter and/or Integrated Product Data Management (Teamcenter).
  • Previous experience supporting Government focused Product Support and Services Engineering teams.
  • Previous experience working development activities leveraging suppliers and/or purchase services.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically depending on business needs.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $164,900 - $239,200
