The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) National Systems Programs (NSP) software capability is seeking an Associate DevSecOps Software Engineer in Southern California (El Segundo or Seal Beach). This position includes working with cloud infrastructure, development pipelines, and deployment pipelines.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys working collaboratively with others, and has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies. The selected candidate’s responsibilities will include optimizing the DevSecOps infrastructure, deploying and managing multi-cluster environments, troubleshooting issues, and performing cost analysis.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Top-Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software

  • Support automation, development, monitoring, improvement and troubleshooting across software development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls

  • Contribute to analysis, plans, and execution of mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities

  • Support implementation of an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization

  • Support collaboration with cross functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems

  • Support implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevSecOps environment

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

  • 1+ years of experience in development frameworks, cloud native technologies and tools such as CI/CD pipelines, Container Based Development (Kubernetes), AWS

  • 1+ years of experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc.)

  • Experience with GIT/SCM Principles

  • Software Development Environment Administration (Dependency Management, Pypi, Conda, etc…)

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience with software development using agile principles and a structured development process

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with: GITLAB, Jenkins, Kubernetes, AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Docker

El Segundo, CA: $90,950.00 - $123,050.00

Seal Beach, CA: $90,950.00 - $123,050.00
