Our Finance Shared Services (FSS) Estimating Center of Expertise (COE) organization is seeking an Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Associate or Experienced) to support the Government Estimating and Pricing for Space Mission Systems team located El Segundo, California.

This position supports U.S. Government contracts and proposal activities for government satellite systems.

The candidate will lead a variety of estimating tasks, including estimate and cost volume preparation, proposal development, fact-finding, and negotiation. They will be part of a cross-functional team working with Contracts, Estimating, Supplier Management, Business Development, and Program Management to evaluate customer requests for proposals and statements of work, and to maintain communications with internal and external partners to ensure cost proposals are accurate, complete, and of the highest quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop estimates and prices from technical requirements through design, build, and aftermarket support stages of the program.

  • Prepare, validate, and document estimates and prices.

  • Evaluate requests for proposal, substantiate estimates/pricing, and assemble price proposals.

  • Develop estimating and pricing methods.

  • Create priced bills of materials and supporting documentation.

  • Evaluate and develop business cases.

  • Perform analyses and provide recommendations in support of pricing/estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.).

  • Develop and maintain pricing models.

  • Incorporate data into and maintain structured systems; coordinate program database requirements.

  • Develop, apply, and maintain rates and factors for estimating, pricing, and proposals.

  • Perform compliance activities including policy and procedure development, system/tool deployment, and training delivery.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 1+ years of experience in finance, accounting, business, or a related role

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel using formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets

  • 1+ years of experience working with analytics, data, and spreadsheets to build presentations and make recommendations

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in Senior Leadership briefings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience performing cost estimating/pricing functions

  • Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions

  • Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and driving projects to completion

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working under tight deadlines with competing priorities

  • Understanding of the proposal process and experience using data analysis to drive decision making

  • Knowledge of United States Government (USG) Cost Accounting Standards and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $70,550 - $95,450

Summary Pay Range Experienced (Level 3): $90,100 - $121,000

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph Post-Start is required.
