As part of the delivery of the UK MoD Poseidon P-8A Aircraft Support Provider contract, Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Continuing Airworthiness Engineer to act as Continuing Airworthiness Exposition (CAME) and Part M ICDs (Interface Control Documents) manager.

The BDUK Poseidon P-8 Continuing Airworthiness Engineer will provide direct assistance to the Poseidon P-8 CAMO Support Service (CAMSS) Lead, as a part of BDUK Product Support, and will be responsible to the BDUK Fixed Wing Product Support Manager and RAF Poseidon Mil CAM, as workforce substitution.

The selected candidate will form part of the BDUK CAMSS Team, based at RAF Lossiemouth (Scotland) and work as a member of the RAF Poseidon P-8A Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and author the Poseidon P-8 CAME (Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition) and various Part M ICDs (Interface Control Documents) in place, ensuring compliance to MAA Regulation on behalf of the Posiedon MilCAM.
  • Support the development and improvement of Continuing Airworthiness processes, through Regulation monitoring and update to procedures.
  • Guide the development of Continuing Airworthiness Management metrics and appropriate dashboard to assist day to day management, performance monitoring and drive continuous improvement opportunities. 
  • Monitor any change in Customer requirements to planned maintenance or short-term capability in the use of the UK Poseidon P-8 fleet, to ensure that the CAMSS sustains delivery of Continuing Airworthiness.
  • Assisting other BDUK functions and capabilities that support the execution of the Poseidon P-8 Mil CAM’s Part M responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the BDUK CAMSS team remain MRP compliant and have a positive contribution to the Poseidon Mil CAM’s approvals.
  • Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK QMS (Quality Management System).
  • Support the correct and proper use of the RAF QMS, supporting internal and external Quality Assurance activities (including MAA audits) and associated Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and corrective actions plan.
  • Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK SMS (Safety Management System).
  • Support the correct and proper use of the RAF SMS.
  • Attend relevant Mil CAMO and BDUK Engineering Meetings as required.

Required Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years Continuing Airworthiness Experience.
  • Human Factors Training.

Desirable competences

  • AMAC-F course (Airworthiness for Military Aircraft – Fundamentals).
  • Continuing Airworthiness Management Skills for Defence course (TT08).
  • Understanding Defence CAMO Regulations (TR75).
  • P-8 EWIS Training.
  • LIS (GOLDesp) Training.
  • Resolve Training.
  • Aircraft Exit/Entry Training.
  • MAM-P B079 Poseidon laser safety training.
  • MAM-P B071 Poseidon FRP awareness training.
  • Experience of using Power Bi
  • P-8 Gen Fam Course (Managers Course) or B737NG Gen Fam course.

Essential to be able to obtain UK SC security clearance.

This role is onsite position with flexible working hours.
