The Boeing Company is seeking a Site Manager to oversee MH-139 aircrew instruction support services at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. The MH-139 is the USAF’s replacement for the UH-1N. The Site Manager will be responsible for all aspects of training operations, including instructing aircrew and device maintenance, and will represent The Boeing Company to the USAF customer with minimal real-time oversight from Program Management.

The Site Manager is a technical subject matter expert on helicopter Formal Training Unit (FTU) support to the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) missions. As such the Site Manager will provide the operational interface with the local customer as necessary to coordinate and provide the necessary aircrew instructor and Aircrew Training Device (ATD) support of MH-139 FTU aircrew Training. The Site Manager interacts, on a regular basis, with the USAF customer at the Wing, Group, and Squadron leadership levels.

The Site Manager may maintain qualification as an MH-139 simulator instructor, and will lead and manage a team of instructors, FTU support personnel, and device technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage a remote site team of instructors executing aircrew simulator training operations

  • Manage a remote site team of device technicians supporting training device operations

  • Maintain qualification as an MH-139 simulator instructor and perform instruction in support of the customer

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals

  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

  • Coordinate activities with the local base leadership

  • Employment contingent upon successful background check

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience and ability to operate independently with senior levels of customer

  • Experience in military helicopters

  • 500+ hours experience as an Aircrew instructor

  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or Advanced Degree

  • Experience with USAF training systems as an aircrew instructor

  • Experience with the UH-1N and the AF Global Strike Command mission

  • Instructor experience in the UH-1N or MH-139

  • Experience as a training device/simulator instructor

  • 10+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $113,050 – $152,950
