Boeing Vertical Lift in Mesa Arizona is looking for an Entry orAssociate Systems Engineer to join the Attack Rotorcraft Systems Engineering team to join the team in Mesa, AZ.

The candidate will be involved in the development of complex, highly integrated, state-of-the-art rotorcraft systems for government customers.  Our team actively works together with development engineers from multiple disciplines through the entire development life cycle.

The Vertical Lift Organization in Mesa Arizona is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for national defense.  Our systems engineering team supports the Apache AH-64D/E and commercial airplane programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support early program level Systems Engineering tasks focusing on requirements definition, verification planning and initial architecture development.

  • Define and document system architecture and design utilizing MBSE tools and techniques.

  • Support senior engineers on development, decomposition and allocation of system requirements, system functions

  • Support verification planning and manage traceability from verification activities to requirements

  • Support activities leading up to and execution of design reviews

  • Support multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate configuration alternatives

  • Regularly interact at a technical level with engineering experts to resolve technical issues

  • Support the development of a digital engineering ecosystem that combines and integrates engineering models and data across the product lifecycle.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform

  • Experience interacting with engineering experts to resolve complex technical issues

  • Experience developing and managing requirements and related attributes using a requirements management tool such as IBM DOORS

  • Experience in MS Office Products and strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills

  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML).

  • Demonstrated practical experience in system integration, validation, and/or verification

  • Self-motivated in identifying process improvement opportunities with ability to provide potential solutions through strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading initial customer requirements decomposition and establishment of program requirements from system set through subsystem and configured items with associated verification methods in DOORS.

  • MSOSA, CAMEO or similar Model Based Engineering software and its application across all elements of systems engineering and artifact linkage.

  • Basic understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles. (Program development and test experience preferred)

Typical Education:

Level 1: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation Assistance:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Typical summary pay range:

Level 1: $73,950 - $100,000

Level 2: $91,800- $124,200
