Boeing is currently seeking a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Watch Officer Lead to support Mesa, AZ.

Boeing is looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Watch Operations professional to join a team of experts focused on supporting the mission to protect company people, assets, and information, and ensure business resiliency. In this role you will provide support to the Watch Operations Manager, and to a highly focused, and mission driven team of watch officers, who facilitate and support global security operations at Boeing. You will also work closely with the Senior GSOC Manager, intelligence analysts, and many others, assisting in threat analysis & resiliency, watch operations, and global security processes.

The Watch Operations Lead develops and assesses standard protocols, tools, sources, methods, and templates required to enable a compliant and robust program. The primary focus of the GSOC Watch Operations team is to enable effective security operations throughout the Boeing Enterprise worldwide, providing continuous monitoring of global incidents with impact, or potential impact, to the business. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitors worldwide events including, but are not limited to natural disasters, political instability, civil unrest, terrorism, and crime

  • Identifies events with the potential to impact Boeing's personnel, assets, and operations

  • Drafts and reviews concise notifications for distribution to Boeing’s decision-makers and leaders

  • Supports the GSOC Watch Operations team and day-to-day operations in a supervisory capacity

  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team of other global security professionals in support of the Global Security Operations Center’s (GSOC) 24/7/365 operations

  • Facilitates Boeing’s crisis management activities

  • Assists with event escalation and emergency communications to site, regional, and enterprise-level leadership

  • Conducts detailed verbal situation briefings to Vice President (VP) level executives

  • Implements and supports GSOC operating procedures and best practices to drive business goals and objectives

  • Participates in training and exercises to ensure GSOC team proficiency and compliance with standard operating procedures

  • Identifies gaps and conduct critical assessments of best practices in dynamic environments in accordance with Boeing policies and procedures

  • Manages individual and group projects in support of strategic initiative

  • Manages several projects simultaneously using standard project management tools and disciplines

  • Possesses a strong understanding of global security operations, policies, and procedures, impact to industry, company, staff, assets, organization, policies and procedures - interpreting what is required to ensure risk mitigation and compliance

  • Utilizes technology, sources, and methods in a GSOC environment, necessary to carry out mission necessities

  • Uses collaboration and leadership skills to motivate teams toward a common and consistent approach to ensure compliance, preparation, and alignment with department deliverables

  • Develops strategic planning efforts, facilitating a tactical application to incident monitoring and response

  • Interacts with external agencies on matters relating to GSOC Operations

  • Possesses a strong understanding of company organization, policies and procedures and be able to adapt to changing business realities quickly

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience and or education in at least one of the following: corporate security; geopolitical instability; intelligence analysis, issue-based activism; political violence; protective intelligence; terrorism; and/or travel safety

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to complete the GSOC Watch Officer training and qualification process within two months of hire

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Willing to support a 24/7 on-call environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor degree in a related field such as Intelligence, Crisis/Emergency Management, Security/Criminal Justice, International Relations, or Public Administration or equivalent work or military experience

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment such as corporate global security operations center, emergency operations center, or a major urban area fusion center

  • Experience in multi-tasking and rapid decision making in a dynamic environment

  • Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, ArcGIS, or Google Earth

  • Experience working with global risk intelligence and incident response applications such as Dataminr, Everbridge Suite, Factal, OnSolve, or WebEOC

  • Experience utilizing different open source research techniques i.e. social media, traditional media, government websites

  • Experience with formal training  in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMAs) National Incident Management System (NIMS), including the Incident Command System (ICS)

  • Experience giving formal briefings and/or presentations

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment such as corporate global security operations center, emergency operations center, or a major urban area fusion center

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $111,350 - $150-650
