Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mesa Site Workforce and Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic team in Mesa, AZ.

In this role, you have the unique opportunity to build relationships and collaborate across the Mesa Site and within our communities – by partnering with site leadership team, business leaders, hiring managers, human resources, external community partnerships, local universities and technical schools to drive engagement and develop a future talent pipeline.  You will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of our ever-changing business landscape, the needs of our employees and production system, and how we position our site for the future.

To be successful in the role, you should have a demonstrated ability to collaborate and integrate across functions, demonstrated planning and project management skills, passion for our employees and our local community, as well as an interest in helping others learn, grow, and develop.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies that enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture at the Mesa site.  Includes annual event planning, budget authorization, and financial performance management.
  • Planning, organizing, and leading large-scale events at Mesa site (e.g. Boeing Family Day), aimed at strengthening the connection between employees, their families, and the community.
  • Represent and communicate Boeing’s workforce needs in the fields of engineering, supply chain, and finance by fostering partnerships with relevant universities.
  • Collaborate with our local community partners on various projects - including our Bootcamps in wire harnessing, composites, and sheet metal - and serve as the primary contact for the Mesa Community College grant funding from the higher education department at Boeing.
  • Collaborate with local Arizona high schools to build strong relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of their talent pipeline programs.
  • Partner with local STEM schools (EVIT, WestMec, etc.) to foster relationships with the "sending high schools" to enhance workforce development initiatives in aviation and manufacturing.
  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience with project management and the ability to self-manage projects
  • 3+ years’ experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders
  • 3+ years’ experience developing and deploying organizational plans and strategies
  • 1+ years’ experience developing presentations for and presenting to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experienced problem-solver and comfortable with dynamic, ambiguous environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication across diverse audiences and at all levels of the company
  • Passionate about engaging our current employees, and attracting the future workforce

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

This job does require local travel frequently to community partners in keeping with the nature of the position. This position may require occasional travel outside of the local community.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: $97,750 - $132,250
