The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Fabrication Division is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Composites Manufacturing team in Mesa, Arizona.

The Industrial Engineer will be a part of the high-performing team supporting Mesa Composites Fabrication. As an Industrial Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design, stabilize, improve, and transform production systems and processes to achieve world class operational excellence for some of the world’s most sophisticated aircraft and systems. This role will join a team of Industrial Engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, and delivering innovative solutions for multiple Boeing Defense Platforms.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.

  • Reviews the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.

  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.

  • Leads the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to Operations leaders and Customers.

  • Leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Leads operations planning, work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.

  • Leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices. Monitors production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.

  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years’ experience working in an engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years’ experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering.

  • 9 or more years of experience working in a team environment.

  • 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 9 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Typical Summary pay range: $122,400 - $165,600
