The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Virtual) to support ourSoftware Products & Capabilities, Common Embeddedteam located inMesa, AZ.  

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area oflow-level, embedded software engineering

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities

  • Minimum 5 years of experience withthe software development life cycle

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members

  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees

  • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, management/business skills

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to change

  • Strong background in low-level,embedded software engineering

  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software

  • Knowledgeable of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines

Summary pay range for Manager Level: $123,250 - $192,050
