Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced, and Senior Level Flight Deck & Systems Engineers located in Neu-Isenburg who will join the team that crafts, tests, and certifies industry-leading, state of the art Flight Decks and Systems for Boeing Commercial Airplanes!

At any given moment, tens of thousands of Flight Crews around the world are operating and working in the Flight Decks of Boeing-designed airplanes. We are tasked with ensuring that today's designs receive world class support and new and future designs are loved by pilots, advance aviation safety, and improve operational efficiency. The flight decks that you design will be used for decades to come and connect the entire globe.

The successful Flight Deck & Systems team member has a passion for aviation and enjoys working with a team of pilots, engineers, Human Factors specialists, and customers who share that same passion.

  • This requisition is for a locally hired position in Neu-Isenburg. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions, incl. models, for complex system engineering tasks in the domain of flight deck and avionics software and design.

  • Designing, testing, and certifying the look, feel, and operational behavior of the flight deck, from the early conceptual phase to supporting airplanes through their service life.

  • Establishing design requirements for changes and improvements to the flight crew interface on existing or new commercial airplane models, and testing and implementing those improvements.

  • Supporting product development, efforts to identify new and emerging technologies to increase aviation safety and add value to our products or services.

  • Prototyping cockpit layouts using commercial and company-unique computing tools, and validating design requirements and flight deck design philosophies during test programs using analysis, flight deck simulators, and flight test airplanes. 

  • Collaborating with pilots, designers, and systems engineers to ensure flight deck interfaces and flight management automation complements the cognitive, physical, sensory and ergonomic capabilities of our pilots.

Engineers in this position are expected to independently work assignments, collaborate with teammates, and receive tasks from a lead engineer.

Basic Qualifications (Required skills/experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

  • Track record of applying expertise in simulation and modeling, Model Based Systems Engineering, and model-based development tools such as MATLAB Simulink

  • Track record of applying expertise in defining systems and translating system-level requirements and models into software requirements

  • Fluent in English

  • Existing rights to work in Germany

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Track record of applying expertise in flight deck operations or human factors

  • Knowledge of pertinent aviation regulations

Level 2 (Associate):

  • 2+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Level 3 (Experienced):

  • 7+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Level 4 (Senior)

  • 12+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
