Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) is hiring an Entry-Level Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) to join the 787 Production Engineering team located in North Charleston, SC. This engineer will perform/support troubleshooting, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) technical analysis, and provide solutions to non-conforming products. This position will work directly with cross functional and production engineering teams to meet production program objectives. This position participates in a 9-to-12-month Boeing Company Training Rotation Program, which may involve assignments to the first, second, or third shift, as well as weekend or daily overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions to product/process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.

  • Assists with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances.

  • Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications.

  • Identifies analyses fleet data, collects and evaluates data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues.

  • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety.

  • Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

  • Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor's or Masters of Science Degree from an ABET OR ABET equivalent accredited course of study in Engineering. Degree requirements shall be complete at time of application.

  • Knowledge of repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, and basic electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes

  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience

  • Production engineering experience with relevant technological knowledge

  • Experience in solving simple to complex problems

  • Electrical/mechanical system knowledge, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair methodology

  • Experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board activities related to aircraft/component/system/circuit card repairs)

  • Functional system level and component level testing

Pay Range Summary:

Summary Pay Range:

Entry-Level (Level 1): $71,400 - $96,600
