Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Fabrication Painter to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable shift!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares interior parts and fabricated assemblies for painting

  • Makes necessary patterns, performs layout and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to parts and fabricated assemblies

  • Sanding, prepping and painting interior airplane parts

  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks

  • Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests

  • Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation

  •  Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements

  • Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work variable shifts

  • 1+ year of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing

  • 1+ year of experience with sanding, taping, mixing material, the application of paint

  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with airplane painting

  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned tasks/work

  • Coachable and receptive to instruction

Shift

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation is needed.

Summary Pay Range: $54,000-$64,000
