The Boeing Company is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-Level or SeniorNumerical Control Programmer to join our dynamic Engineering Design Center in North Charleston, SC.

Our work statement in the Boeing South Carolina EDC is constantly changing and we must rapidly adjust to new technical and business challenges. Our work requires highly skill individuals who can go into an unfamiliar environment, understand the challenges of the team we are supporting, and develop a plan for success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and maintains various Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture assemblies.
  • Working closely with other NC Programmers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Equipment Engineering, equipment providers, Boeing Design Engineers, Boeing Research & Technology Engineers, Quality Engineers, IT, Industrial Engineers and Production Operations personnel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
  • Provides machine operator instructions and documentation for automated or numerically controlled equipment per established process.
  • Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.
  • Plans and guides for the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.
  • Assists in numerous tasks related to numerical controlled manufacturing, including research and data collection to support cross functional teams, establishing technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility and planning the integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.
  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of related work experience with industry data requirements
  • 2+ years’ experience with CATIA V5 or ENOVIA (or equivalent 3D CAD design software)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, and machine tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, and analyze technical data

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proficient in numerical control programming and/or machining techniques.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • General understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and application.
  • Familiarity with engineering release processes

Pay Range Summary:

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Mid-Level: 85,000-115,000

Senior Level: 102,000-138,000
