Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Product Protection Specialist (level 2 or 3) to help support the 787 Boeing South Carolina Delivery Center Operations Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift.

We’re looking for a dedicated professional to play a vital role in supporting our Final Assembly operations. In this position, you will help drive improvements in production efficiency, enhance workplace safety, and ensure the highest standards of product quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create a culture that enhances productivity, safety and a teaming environment. Works cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure product protection Inspection, development, testing application and installation as required. Coordinates with Leads/Managers on inspections, testing and execution of critical path of product protection.

  • Supports complex group work sessions selecting and using advanced Lean principles, processes and tools to implement the Boeing Production System for internal or external customers.

  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices for comparison to applicable standards and performance criteria.

  • Analyzes and interprets data to prioritize problem statements, and measures effectiveness of implemented improvement projects (results).

  • Works with organizations to develop strategies, plans and metrics to achieve business objectives.

  • Supports, develops, and implements Product Protection Projects across Manufacturing Business Units.

  • Supports the coordination of revisions of the Product Protection Playbook with cross functional support teams.

  • Supports the alignment of future and existing product protection applications to the Product Protection Playbook.

  • Supports as a focal and as a delegate to Product Protection Council Leader.

  • Conducts daily product protection airplane audits across Final Assembly.

  • Providing audit results and identifies opportunities for improvement of areas at risk. Reporting finding to teams and Manufacturing Business Unit leadership daily and weekly.

  • Supports manufacturing daily on application and test product protection material as needed.

  • Support Final Assembly lean events as a Product Protection Focal.

  • Provides recommendations to reduce damage to product and personnel.

  • Support and attends Cross functional walks across Final Assembly

  • Supports actions and projects improvements providing status updates.

  • Support the development of product protection safety, and quality communications

  • Supports, manages, and maintains the Product Protection Warehouse

  • Accesses CribMaster and updates status of materials using automated systems.

  • Maintains Product Protection inventory, parts, and supplier material

  • Work with internal and external suppliers as necessary to avoid parts shortages and elevate concerns on product protection is

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in the aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing industry.

  • 1+years of experience with Lean principles.

  • 1+ years of experience with continuous improvement.

  • 1+ years of experience do you have with MS Office Suite?

  • 1+ years of experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets

  • 1+ years of experience in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1+ years of experience with Boeing Production System (BPS) concepts.

  • 1+ years of experience with data mining, processing and analysis.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficient in Velocity, EID/REDARS, IVT, COGNOS Velocity, and TMC.

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at the time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $74,800 - $101,200
