Boeing South Carolina (BSC) is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Paint Manager (Level L) within our 787 Decorative Paint Operations.

You will lead with safety, compliance, and quality at the center of decision-making while serving and developing cross‑functional teams. We are looking for an effective collaborative leader who drives engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement, and who will actively contribute to Boeing’s site, company, and community culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence across multiple 787 manufacturing business units, emphasizing effective communication, teamwork, trust, respect, clear roles, adaptability, conflict management, and accountability

  • Lead manufacturing teams and first line managers within our 787 Decorative Paint Operations

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across multiple organizations on overarching long term business goals, challenges, rate readiness, and strategic process improvements

  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures; contribute to business and technical strategy, goals, and objectives

  • Secure resources for departmental activities, staffing needs, manage supplier technical performance, and lead process improvement initiatives

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, factory support, and direct reports across the site

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

  • Mentor and coach leaders and teammates to promote proactive collaboration, professional development, and a “winning together” mindset

  • Sponsor talent development and succession planning through mentoring and active investment in people

  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity while making sound decisions and driving results

  • Remove roadblocks and drive positive change for the team, partners, and 787 Airplane Program

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing or equivalent military experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

  • 3+ years in a management role with responsibility for direct reports and collaboration with business unit leaders

  • Experience using strategic decision making to drive business results

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Business acumen; ability to build a cross-functional structure across multiple organizations

  • Experience with decorative paint and coating systems

  • ​5+ years of experience anticipating key risks and developing mitigation plans

  • 5+ years leading Lean process improvements

Shift:

This position is variable shift, meaning you will be placed on a specific shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $141,950 - $192,050
