The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC is seeking two Tool & Fixture Specialists (B or C).

Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who share the vision to be the most innovative and skilled Production Engineering Organization in aerospace and to deliver producible and efficient products.

Primary Responsibilities:

Your duties as a Tool & Fixture Specialist will include (but are not limited to):

  • Routine tool setup activities and making repairs to existing tools within the IRCSC.

  • Design and fabrication of new tools per shop requests, to address identified issues, or per engineering drawings.

  • Operate various equipment to support the factory by moving equipment and materials.

  • Resolve problems with tools to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Vocational School/Associates Diploma and 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with airplane interiors products designed and produced at the Interior Responsibility Center.

  • Demonstrated ability with prioritizing workload.

  • Can perform routine work under general supervision with basic instructions.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience identifying and developing solutions to achieve new opportunities and to resolve existing problems.

  • Experience operating and maintaining various fabrication tools (CNC equipment, drill press, saws, grinder, hand tools etc.).

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, composite tooling, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems). Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies.

  • Use of precision measuring tools e.g. calipers, micrometers, dial Indicators, etc.

  • Ability to setup and layout tooling, equipment and work pieces.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Must be able to perform physical work:

  • Lifting: The ability to lift and carry objects, requiring a minimum weight limit of 50 pounds. 

  • Standing and Walking: Regularly standing or walking for extended periods, which would include working in a factory setting. 

  • Bending and Stooping: The ability to bend, stoop, and kneel, which may be necessary for assembly or maintenance tasks.

Pay Range Summary:

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Level B: 49,300-66,700

Level C: 61,200-82,800
