Boeing Defense Space and Security is seeking innovative and intrinsically motivated Human Engineering Manager to join our Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers team in Oklahoma City, OK.

In this role, you will support the development of state-of-the-art fixed wing tactical aircraft

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and motivate a team of engineers to deliver Human Engineering solutions in the design, development, production and implementation of Boeing processes and products.

  • Lead a group of ~ 15-20 direct reports.

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.

  • Coordinate across interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design and development.

  • Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving in relation to strengthening Human Engineering and contribute to the Human Engineering growth strategy and capability roadmaps.

  • Lead projects or initiatives at the direction of the engineering organization to implement process / product improvements related to Human Engineering.

  • Align Human Engineering Team resources to meet multiple program/project demands.

  • Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional, and program interfaces for crew members and maintainers.

  • Develop basis of estimates for human engineering support on programs

  • Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products.

  • Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-HDBK-516, and MIL-STD-411F) to meet program requirements and ensure engineering quality.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cognitive Psychology or other Human Engineering related field of study.

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership".

  • 7+ years of experience in Human Engineering working as part of an integrated product team.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Masters or PhD in Human Engineering related field.

  • Associate Certification from Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education

  • Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE)

  • Human Engineering experience in the aerospace domain.

  • Demonstrated ability to define HE processes for use by Human Engineering teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to derive Human Factors/Human Engineering requirements. 

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results through effective collaboration working with stakeholders including colleagues throughout the Boeing enterprise.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with virtual teams across multiple time-zones.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range depending on location (level K):  $130,900 - $177,100
