Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels and is seeking an experienced motivated, self-starter candidate; Mid – Level or Lead Process Engineer to support a multi-disciplined engineering team located in Oklahoma City (this position may also be located in Ridley Park, PA and/or Berkeley, MO). This position reports to the BGS Practices, Processes & Compliance senior leader.

We are looking for a candidate to lead the support and sustainment of the design practice system (design practices, technical design reviews, design records, etc.) across the BGS Engineering division. In this position, the individual will be collaborating with technical working groups and program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to execute engineering design practice system deliverables and goals. A successful candidate will lead the deployment of design practices across the BGS Engineering organization by embedding standardized engineering approaches to enable Capability team maturity and utilization. Frequent interaction with subject matter experts and senior engineering leadership – to resolve technical challenges and initiatives is required. Ability to be forward thinking and provide techniques to optimize solutions for complex engineering projects is critical. Experience in performing or supporting design or service-related technical reviews for the creation of engineering artifacts is preferred.  

Ability to work across multiple US times zones and global sites is required for this role. Ability to travel 10% of time for potential team offsite meetings and workshops is expected.  Works under general direction.

Position Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Technical Guidance:
    • Builds processes and plans to identify opportunities for improvements. Leads implementation of improvements including but not limited to engineering processes related to design practice utilization and technical design reviews.
    • Facilitate the implementation and usage of Design Practices (DP) across BGS related products and services in partnership with the capability teams.
    • Design Practice Training and Development: Produce DP training materials, provide DP guidance, coaching and facilitate DP awareness training to engineering team members.
    • Manage and maintain design system communication mechanisms (i.e., Degreed Pathway, Design Practice System website, training videos etc.).
    • Ability to serve in a back-up capacity to support DP Ecosystem activities such as (TDRs, Design Records etc.)
    • Utilizes and ability to learn data driven tools/applications such as SharePoint, Microsoft PowerBI, Info Center etc. to effectively communicate DP ecosystem activities

  • Project Leadership:
    • Leads design practice (DP) project execution support and ensures completion of project phases. Maintains accountability for overall design practices health metrics (BGS engineering), maintaining situational awareness and taking appropriate action to ensure successful completion of tasks
    • Proactively communicates with leaders and peers across BGS engineering, functional chief engineering offices, and engineering enterprise team. Partners with team members such as the Technical Lead Engineer and TDR Project engineer. Keeps stakeholders informed by communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings and providing presentations.
  • Design Practice Performance Tracking:
    • Collects, analyzes and validates engineering performance metrics and data. Performs analysis related to budget request for design practices activities.
    • Compares actual results of baseline plans to assess project performance for design practices, and technical design reviews and ensures the configuration control/ management of data and processes.
    • Produces flow charts, presentations, and reports. Defines plans that highlight upcoming design practices deliverables for engineering leadership.
    • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline. Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or Process Engineering including familiarity with engineering processes and requirements is preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including planning, tracking, and execution of deliverables.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or contributing to cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or integrated solutions.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ of years of higher education and/or related work experience.  (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)

Summary Pay Range:

Mid-Level Summary Pay Range: $88,400 - $119,600

Lead-Level Summary Pay Range:$108,800 -$147,200
