Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Specialist – Associate or Mid-Level (Level 2 or 3) to support the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) platform in Oklahoma City, OK!

In this role, the focus will be on supporting a development modification and follow on production retrofit.  The specific projects required will include product affordability, proposal development, negotiation strategy and integration leadership.  The selected candidate will support both development and follow on production efforts. 

This position is primarily internally facing, and will include frequent interaction with the NATO Final Lifetime Extension Program (FLEP) leadership team. This position is ideal for a candidate seeking a career path in Project Management or Program Management.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external reviews with process required program documentation and implement documentation within program where required if gaps are identified
  • Support tracking of Projects from estimate through completion. Work with the program engineering teams to identify trends, evaluate projected costs, and ensure adherence to contractual requirements
  • Ability to combine information from multiple sources to generate project tracking
  • Flexibility to support ad hoc data and support requests and evolving situations
  • Supports development of overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards)
  • Works to improve project management processes and business systems that support project decision makers
  • Supports all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion
  • Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with project management and self- managing projects
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • How many years of experience managing cost and schedule performance using Earned-Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Experience with Program Management, including scheduling and Cost Account Manager (CAM) Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience with creating presentations
  • Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Travel: Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Level 2                $68,000 - $92,000

Level 3                $85,000 - $115,000
