Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seekingaFirst Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join the cutting tool servicesTool Grind Teamlocated in Portland, OR

Our team utilizesComputer Numeric Control (CNC) and manual cutter grinding equipment to fabricate and resharpen cutting tools in support of one of the largest and most advanced machining facilities in the US.The Boeing Portland facility produces some of the most difficult to machine aerospace components in the world. In support of that, our tool grind shop fabricates specialized cutting tools, modifies and resharpens OEM tools and rapidly responds to emergent cutting tool requirements.

As a leader in our Tool Grindteam,you will play an essential role with responsibility formaintainingproduction acrossa variety of machine tools and grinding equipment, where precision and attention to detail are paramount. The ideal candidate will combine a strong manufacturing and machining background with a customer service mindset. He or she will demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and anengaged,people focused and trust-based leadership style

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of skilled machiniststo fabricate and resharpen cutting tools while maintaining a safe and compliant workspace

  • Engage regularly with internal customers and business partners to ensure the team is supporting their needs

  • Build a team that operates with a high level of trust and teamwork through engagement, follow through, removing roadblocksand meeting the teams daily needs

  • Develop and train new employees as well asmaintaining a robust cross training and skill building plan for entire team

  • Lead through continuously improving processes, performing systematic problem solving and driving a culture of innovation 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of work experience as a machinist 

  • 2+ years formal leadership experience in a manufacturing environment 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Cutting tool fabrication and regrinding experience a plus

  • Experience as a First Line Leader in amachining and/or tool manufacturing environment

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $114,300 - $133,500
