Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Flight Line Paint Operations Manager (Level L) at the PDX Airport in Portland, Oregon with occasional travel to Everett, Washington.

The PDX Paint Site Leader is an unique opportunity to oversee Flightline and Paint operations as well as Site Leader responsibilities for the management and oversight of a free-standing Boeing paint facility. In this role you will work with your direct Boeing staff of five First Line Managers and their AMT crews, as well as support and strengthen the relationships between our onsite Paint Contractors. The PDX Paint Site Leader works with Boeing Facilities and the Port of Portland to ensure adherence to State of Oregon Safety and Environmental requirements along with facility and airport security.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery

  • Interfaces with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of team and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working in the aerospace industry

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and/or managing a team

  • 5+ years of experience in advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems

  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to pass and complete fall protection training and work with heights of 70 feet or more and not exceed weight restrictions

  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation (primarily first shift, but coverage for other shifts may be required)

  • Ability to travel up to 10% (occasional travel to Everett, Washington)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

  • Experience working active flightlines

  • Experience working in a high volume paint facility

  • Experience working with customers

  • Experience working with large cross-functional teams

Shift:

This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.
While standard business hours apply, the role may require up to 50 hours a week, depending on business needs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $144,900 - $177,100
