Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Materials Management and Transportation Manager (Level K) (2nd Shift) to join our 737 Fulfillment team in Renton, WA. 2nd Shift hours: 1:30 pm till 10 pm – Monday-Friday.

This leader will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, kitting, picking, and packing activities, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets at any given time, while translating strategic goals into tactical actions that are understandable to the team.

We are looking for a detailed and team-oriented leader with extensive experience and education in logistics and transportation. They will understand transportation options via all modes and will have supported production in a fast-paced environment in the past, to include mitigation and contingency planning. Their experience will include maintaining carrier and port relationships, planning around potential transportation issues, and creating KPIs to track carrier and lane performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages and integrates employees’ activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • 3+ years of experience working with Supply Chain and Manufacturing
  • 3+ years of experience in a role requiring strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and the Boeing Production System
  • 3+ years of experience as proven leader with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace/operations manufacturing management
  • 3+ years of experience with business knowledge, leadership and people skills to inspire a safe work environment

Summary pay range (Level K): Renton, WA $ 114,300 - $133,000
