Boeing is seeking an experienced Senior  Environmental Engineer/Scientist with strong project management capabilities to support and advance environmental compliance, waste management, and environmental management system initiatives across the enterprise in Renton, WA or Everett, WA. This role requires an applicant who can manage multiple priorities, influence and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and drive execution of complex environmental programs with a strong focus on regulatory compliance. 

This role is ideal for an environmental professional who combines technical environmental knowledge with strong project management skills and a commitment to compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will help drive Boeing’s environmental performance while supporting critical program areas across the enterprise.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Policy to Compliance project management activities, ensuring environmental policies are translated into effective compliance programs, including tracking and influence of actions, deliverables, and transition project execution. In many cases, the ongoing responsibilities will be incorporated into site-level EHS process. Occasionally, new processes and tools will need to be established and the program may be maintained at the Enterprise level.  

  • Develop and manage Boeing Hazardous Waste Landfill Strategy initiatives, including evaluation of requirements, stakeholder coordination, and implementation planning. 

  • Oversee Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility Management (TSDF) activities, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations and Boeing requirements. 

  • Manage Small Site Environmental Regulatory Compliance efforts for assigned locations, including tracking requirements, supporting audits/assessments, and coordinating corrective actions. 

  • Serve as a project manager and technical lead for environmental initiatives, driving timelines, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment. 

  • Partner with internal stakeholders including GREF, operations, legal, and compliance teams to ensure environmental requirements are understood and implemented effectively. 

This position will also serve as a backup for the following environmental program areas: 

  • ISO 14001 leadership and strategy 

  • International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG), Working Group 7 

  • Environmental Metrics Strategy and Management 

  • Enablon support for the Aspects and Impacts and Risk Modules 

  • Hazardous Waste Program Support 

  • Sustainability Report data inputs 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, physics, computer science or mathematics

  • Experience in environmental compliance or environmental program management. 

  • Demonstrated strength in project management, including planning, coordination, execution, and follow-through. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in hazardous waste management 

  • Experience supporting or leading ISO 14001 environmental management systems. 

  • Familiarity with Enablon or similar environmental management information systems. 

  • Experience with environmental metrics. 

  • Background in aerospace, manufacturing, or large enterprise environmental compliance programs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $127,500 - $172,500
