Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Metal Fabricator/Welder in Ridley Park, PA to join their team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, alter, and maintain non-production sheetmetal parts and structural steel assemblies.

  • Plan and sequence work operations to be performed on non-production sheetmetal parts and structural steel assemblies.

  • Utilize knowledge of trade practices and blueprints to determine locations, routing, fastening points, clearances, brazing, soldering, bolting, welding joints and seams; working from scaffolding and ladders.

  • Setup and operate sheetmetal fabricating machines.

  • Setup and operate welding equipment to fabricate objects such as material racks, guard rails, and beams.

  • Assemble complex units, to include paint booth waterfalls,
    ventilation, dust collection, and air conditioning duct systems.

  • Provide instruction to employees designated to assist with the above duties.

  • Complete and/or process paper work pertinent to equipment records and maintenance.

  • Perform work in accordance with oral and written instructions from management and in
    conformance with company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practices.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • 3+ years of education through trade school or state apprentice program

  • Ability to work variable shifts

  • Experience with welding/cutting operations on steel/aluminum and various other metals

  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings

  • Experience providing technical and operational expertise in the analysis, assessment, fabrication, and repair/maintenance recommendations in support of the assigned program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced with a wide range of metal working equipment including but not limited to the following sheers, saws, ironworker, punches, various hand tools, welding machines, box brake

  • Experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment

Shift:

Variable shifts – this position will be for 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation

Additional Information:

This is an hourly position governed by the UAW Collective Bargaining agreement.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Salary Range: $32.97 - $52.07
