The Boeing Company is seeking a SeniorEmpowered Official- Global Trade Controls to join our team. This candidate will support the Vertical Lift Aircraft business. This position allows the candidate to be located in either Ridley Park, PA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, or Mesa, AZ.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the provisions and requirements of the various export control statutes and regulations, and the criminal liability, civil liability, and administrative penalties for violating the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations

  • Become an agent of change to continuously advance Boeing’s Behaviors and Values to include safety, quality, trust, ownership, people focus, innovation, integrity, and compliance

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support trade compliance and program execution for the Boeing Defense Vertical Lift Aircraft business

  • Develop, implement and execute EAR and ITAR trade control strategies to ensure operations are conducted compliantly and meet business objectives and timelines

  • Apply deep knowledge of the US trade control regulations to provide sound trade compliance advice, counsel and solutions

  • Inform and instruct stakeholders on the regulatory requirements and authorization approvals and associated limitations, provisos, and conditions

  • Partner in business discussions to ensure the bona fides of the proposed initiatives are aligned with the regulatory trade controls requirements within lead-time

  • Coordinate across functions, geographic regions, and organizations to plan, develop, position, deploy and manage comprehensive trade compliance education, processes, systems, and resources in advance of global business undertakings

  • Perform the role of Empowered Official to include drafting, signing, submitting, and managing Department of State and the Department of Commerce export authorizations to include (Agreements, Licenses, Advisory Opinions (AO), General Correspondence (GC) requests, Exemptions and Exceptions)

  • Manage export authorizations from cradle to grave and ensure all regulatory requirements are timely fulfilled and Boeing processes adhered to

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the controlling trade control laws and regulations of the non-US locations where Boeing operates to ensure totality of compliance and continuity of business

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with a team to solve complex issues

  • 5+ years of experience with Trade Control experience in U.S Customs, International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience writing trade control authorities / export licensing

  • 5+ years of experience with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) & International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • 5+ years of experience participating on compliance assessment activities supporting global trade controls matters

  • 5+ years of project management experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $112,200 - $162,150
