The Boeing Precision Engagement Systems division is currently seeking an Experienced Engineering Technical Specialist to support our Direct Attack Weapons Software team in St. Charles, Missouri (Greater St. Louis area). This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

The Precision Engagement Systems organization is a strong and growing business that produces a variety of precision-guided weapons, which are employed around the world to support the defense of the United States and more than 30 U.S. allied countries.  Boeing’s Direct Attack Weapons organization develops, integrates, and sustains precision-guided munitions and associated delivery and targeting systems for military customers, enabling accurate engagement of high-value targets. They provide end-to-end capabilities—engineering, testing, platform integration, and lifecycle support—to ensure weapons perform reliably across operational environments.

In this collaborative role, you will work closely with engineering teams, support teams across various programs, and engineering functions to identify technical knowledge gaps. You will then create and deliver targeted On-The-Job (OJT) learning solutions that facilitate the real-time adoption and application of enhanced practices. 

As a Technical Specialist in Engineering Processes and Tools, you will provide expert guidance and mentorship, ensuring the effective application of engineering processes and tools. Your focus will be on enhancing technical skills, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning within our Engineering organization.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitation and leadership in team process improvement initiatives:

  • Assist in cleaning up technical debt

  • Coordinate meeting/agenda including action tracking

  • Generation and refinement of software integration metrics:

  • Coordinate with US Navy focal to provide flight test information to the Boeing team

  • Ensure engineering and operations processes function properly to allow production users to perform daily tasks with minimal interruption. 

  • Develop, document, implement, and ensure compliance with requirements for engineering tools, processes, and standards. 

  • Lead Lean initiatives and driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost across multiple programs

  • Support execution of Software Quality Management Plan

  • Generating data to support the Cost Account Managers (CAMs) via the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Staffing and Adaptive Planning maintenance

  • Support Meetings ex: Major design milestone reviews, aircrew training, etc.

  • Facilities maintenance requests/escorting (Maximo tickets):

  • Enter tickets for all things related to facilities

  • Escort maintenance team to perform work order

  • Closely coordinate with New Hire Team to participate in onboarding of new employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years' experience with engineering concepts, processes, and methods

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent experience strongly preferred 

  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or Lean Master Certification

  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Change Management experience is preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Sound delegation skills accompanied by effective ability for follow-up

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

  • Prior experience working in a classified environment

  • Prior experience facilitating meetings with various partners

  • Risk Opportunity Management (ROM) experience

  • Experience with data analysis

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   

Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2): $99,450 - $134,550 

Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
