The Precision Engagement Systems (formerly Weapons) organization in Saint Charles, MO is on a growth trajectory and is seeking a dynamic leader with previous integration and leadership experiences to lead the Missile Weapons System (MWS) Platform Integration capability.

The Senior Weapons Platform Integration Engineering Manager is responsible for the Direct Attack Platform Integration capability and has day-to-day execution responsibilities for Platform Integration of Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) on various Military Aircraft and some Ground-Based Platforms. The Direct Attack Platform Integration team is a customer-facing team and is directly responsible for Direct Attack Weapons Integration support and leadership from design through test and fielding.  In this position, you and your team will interface with multiple stakeholders including United States Air Force, United States Navy, multiple aircraft platform government and contractors (e.g. F-15, F-16, F/A-18, P-8), International Customers, and multiple weapons simulation teams and laboratories.  Additionally, as the Direct Attack Platform Integration capability leader you will be responsible for people development, staffing, innovation, and efficiency ideas with the Direct Attack Platform Integration team and will be accountable to the MWS Systems Engineering Integration Team (SEIT).

The MWS organization is also looking for a leader to guide engineering teams in the creation of TLE-based intra-process teams (IPTs) and develop strategies to implement various Digital Engineering, Model-Based Engineering and process improvement initiatives.  The MWS organization’s culture values leaders that eagerly take responsibility for solving problems (their own and others'), have an inherent bias towards taking action, set very high standards for themselves and for those with whom they work, passionately honor and achieve commitments and are able to deliver valuable results, strive to be the best and to develop the best, and definitely think big and long term.  We also find it important that our leaders are comfortable with contention, act without ego in the heat of discussion, and are great at building consensus among excellent, opinionated engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cost, schedule, and technical execution of the Direct Attack Platform Integration statement of work (e.g. successful integration of weapons on aircraft/ground platforms, management of Platform to Weapon Interface Control Documents, ensuring new weapon upgrade/features and software updates successfully integrate with aircraft platforms, execution of system integration lab testing, leadership, project management, and execution of Integration Contracts for F-15, F-18, F-35, F-22, B-21, F-16, etc. and a wide variety of other customers and platforms).
  • Weekly programmatic support with and support of engineering focals reporting to Program Management, Program Chief Engineers, Program Teams, and Program Customers; Cost Account Management (CAM) duties; management and oversight of staffing levels.
  • Managerial HR duties including performance evaluations, career development, and mentorship with a keen focus on people development, as you will be leading a core of highly motivated and excelling engineers in execution of difficult programs and transition from legacy design/test methodologies to Digital Engineering.
  • Identifying, leading, and promoting initiative improvements on this team and other adjunct engineering teams, focused around Digital/Model-Based process identification and improvement as well as clear RAA and consistency in cross-team efforts; focus on promoting Technical Lead Engineering hierarchy and cross-program support.
  • Focus on training improvements to increase knowledge transfer and mentorship for the teams.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years of experience performing complex systems engineering or system integration work.
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in both integration lab and ground/flight test environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, System Integration, Systems Engineering or similar engineering field of study.
  • Experience leading or managing an engineering project or team with a track record or focus on mentorship, process improvement, and collaboration.
  • 4+ years of experience leading (formal and/or informal) multi-disciplinary engineering and integration teams.
  • Hands-on experiences with integration, lab testing, and flight testing.
  • Experience with affordability initiatives, process definition, and improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable presenting to program leaders and to customers and will profit from persuasiveness and skill as a negotiator.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $155,550 - $210,450
