Boeing Brazil is seeking an Aviation Safety Specialist, reporting to the Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office.
The Aviation Safety Specialist will support the Boeing Safety, Security, and Airworthiness (SS&A) organization serving as a trusted technical and strategic advisor working on numerous initiatives aimed at advancing Boeing’s safety leadership in Latin America and Caribbean through proactive risk identification, operational analysis, safety promotion, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. The selected candidate for this role will spend most of their time directly interacting with airline safety departments. 
The role requires deep airline operational expertise, healthy relationships with regulators and airline safety departments and strong analytical skills. The individual selected for this role will lead cross-functional safety initiatives across a complex regional environment. The safety specialist will also engage and coordinate with multiple internal teams within Boeing that contribute to aviation safety. 
The selected candidate will maintain trusted, high-impact relationships with senior ICAO regional offices (e.g., ICAO NACC and ICAO SAM offices) and State regulators responsible for safety, positioning Boeing as a credible safety partner, influencing stakeholders in ways that strengthen operational safety across the aviation industry in the region. 

Position Responsibilities: 


•    Provide technical leadership on operational safety matters across Latin America and Caribbean, advocating for alignment with Boeing’s global safety strategy and industry best practices. 
•    Identify existing and emerging operational safety hazards affecting Boeing operators in Latin America and Caribbean, assess its respective safety risks as applicable, and recommend data-driven mitigations. 
•    Support safety initiatives related to flight operations, maintenance practices, and airport operational safety. 
•    Build and maintain strong safety-centered relationships with ICAO and other regulatory bodies, as well as, key airline safety leaders in the region. 
•    Support Boeing’s contributions to national and regional safety forums, ICAO initiatives, and safety-promotion working groups (RASG-PA, BCAST and others). 
•    Work collaboratively with Latin America and Caribbean operators supporting root cause corrective action efforts, safety investigations, safety reporting, and continuous improvement programs. 
•    Contribute to safety risk assessments using shared data, global safety databases, and Boeing safety tools to develop actionable insights. 
•    Conduct trend analysis and operational risk reviews, supporting both proactive safety risk management (SRM) and safety performance monitoring (SPM). 
•    Translate complex technical data into clear recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders. 
•    Serve as an operational safety point of contact during significant events, collaborating with internal Boeing teams and external authorities. 
•    Provide on-site or virtual support during operator safety engagements, operator technical reviews, or safety-related escalations. 
•    Ensure timely, well-coordinated communication of safety information across Boeing functions and with industry partners. 
•    Work closely with Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Latin America and Caribbean teams, Customer Support, Engineering, Training and Flight Operations to integrate safety insights into broader business priorities and solutions. 
•    Participate in joint safety reviews, operational audits, and technical assistance activities for Latin America and Caribbean operators. 
•    Contribute to Boeing safety workshops, seminars, and capability-building programs across Latin America and Caribbean. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 


•   Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
•   Must have a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics.
•   Fluent in both written and verbal English.

•   Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the Spanish Language.
•   Experience in customer-facing activities and engaging with customer executives.
•   Knowledge of Brazil Civil Aviation Regulatory framework, the National Aviation Safety Plan, their regulations, and the relationship to ICAO, EASA & FAA standards. 
•   Knowledge about ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) and Regional/National Aviation Safety Plans (RASP/NASP). 
•   Airline Safety Management System (SMS) implementation experience. 
•   Experience working with Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA)/Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) tools and analysis to identify safety risks and address trends. 
•   Experience working in an airline environment managing safety related aspects in flight operations, engineering & maintenance or ground operations. 
•   Excellent cross-functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication in a global team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):


•    Airline safety department or accident investigation experience. 
•    Licensed airline pilot or licensed aviation maintenance engineer (AME) will be considered a plus. 
•    Project management capabilities to lead/manage projects. 
•    Experience in airline operations functions.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.  
Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
