Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid-Carrer Flight Controls Electronics Engineer, reporting to the Flight Control Electronics Manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office.

The title Mid-Carrer Flight Controls Electronics Engineer will join the Flight Control Electronics team in Brazil supporting various Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) programs during development, certification and sustaining phases including 787, 737MAX, 777X and future programs. 

We are seeking accomplished, self-motivated engineers to design, analyze, test and certify the Integrated Standby Display System for large commercial aircraft, as well as to support the production and fleet operations. The flight controls team is currently engaged in the challenging and exciting work of bringing new derivative airplanes into service as well as getting prepared to create the more capable, more efficient and even safer airliners of the future.

Position Responsibilities:

•    Translate system‑level requirements into component‑level requirements and verification strategies that meet schedule and cost targets.

•    Manage component requirements through verification and validation activities across the V&V cycle. 

•    Support system and component certification: produce certification artifacts (e.g., system descriptions, safety analyses, test and inspection reports).

•    Participate in equipment supplier qualification test requirements definitions and qualification test results review. 

•    Coordinate technically with equipment suppliers and monitor supplier performance to ensure integration and compliance.

•    Perform and participate in development assurance reviews both system and component level.

•    Support global fleet operations including: review flight data, troubleshoot fleet problems and respond to customer inquiries on maintenance activities or safety investigations and, also, respond to regulator queries; participate in resolution efforts to resolve Service Related Problems (SRP); and analyze reported flight incidents to provide recommendations to the Safety Review Board (SRB) for Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP) determinations;

•    Cross-functional coordination within and outside of Boeing including with: avionics, hydromechanical systems, crew-ops, airplane level safety, aerodynamics, supply chain management, systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.

This position is hybrid / Telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
  • Must have a degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
  • Experience in development life cycle of aeronautical systems following ARP4754.
  • Experience with safety processes and methods as per ARP4761.
  • Experience with equipment qualification following RTCA DO-160.
  • Experience with sub-systems/equipment supplier´s management and oversight.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

•    Experience with Integrated Standby Display Systems or similar avionics equipment.
•    Experience with design assurance activities related to ARP4754.
•    Experience with Software and Hardware design assurance activities per RTCA DO-178 and 254.
•    Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.
