Boeing Brazil is seeking an Senior Propulsion Structural Design Engineer, reporting to the Propulsion Structures Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos office.

The Senior Propulsion Structural Design Engineer will understand and execute modifications and upgrades on the primary and secondary structure of the existing and new programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge in structural elements and actuation mechanisms for the Aircraft's Structures and Propulsion Systems, desirable knowledge with pylon structures, nacelle, thrust reverser, mount, fusible link, aerodynamic fairings, hinges, APU tail cone, and others, as well as relevant aspects of their integration with the aircraft’s airframe and systems.
  • Provides oversight and direction to develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design. 
  • Leads development, maintenance, and modification of structural and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Leads performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. 
  • Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort. 
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
  • Must have a degree in Engineering.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • In depth experience validating or verifying structural models.
  • In depth experience with structural design principles for aircraft.
  • In depth experience with analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. 

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.  

Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
