Boeing Brazil is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Reliability, Maintainability & System Health) reporting to the Systems EngineerManager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office.

The Senior Systems Engineer (Reliability, Maintainability & System Health) will lead system-of-systems analyses and drive reliability, maintainability and health management solutions across Boeing Commercial Airplanes programs. You will work with cross-functional teams (design, certification, product assurance, suppliers and customers) to define requirements, optimize architectures, verify performance, and influence TPMs that materially affect airplane availability, maintenance cost and mission success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead interdisciplinary, system-of-systems engineering activities for Reliability, Maintainability and System Health across airplane development and support lifecycle.

  • Translate customer and operational needs into system performance requirements and integrated technical parameters; ensure compatibility across physical, functional and program interfaces.

  • Perform and lead quantitative analyses: FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree, probabilistic risk analysis, survival analysis (Kaplan–Meier), reliability predictions and confidence interval estimation.

  • Develop and execute maintainability analyses: task time estimation, access/space allocation, digital maintainability evaluations (VR/AR), maintenance concept and TPM guarantee analyses.

  • Lead system health and prognostics activities: Built-in-test (BIT) design, diagnostic/prognostic algorithms, false alarm mitigation, onboard/offboard health integration and condition-based maintenance modeling.

  • Define, refine and deploy requirements management, risk/issues/opportunity tracking and technology readiness assessment processes and tools.

  • Support verification/validation and certification readiness; prepare and present compliance evidence to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, airline customers, program leadership and functional teams; resolve cross-functional technical issues and represent Boeing as a technical contact.

  • Drive continuous improvement of methods, tools, and technical performance measures, and mentor junior engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • In depth experience in reliability, maintainability or systems engineering within aerospace or equivalent complex-systems industries.

  • Experience with reliability methods: FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, reliability prediction (component and system), reliability testing and FRACAS.

  • Proven maintainability analysis experience: task time estimation, maintainability prediction, maintenance planning and TPM definitions (SR, AOA, M$).

  • In depth experience in system health, diagnostics/prognostics, CBM, BIT and health management architecture.

  • Strong statistical and modeling skills (survival analysis, Weibull/mixture models, confidence intervals), and experience with tools such as R, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent.

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices (e.g., SysML, DOORS/Polarion integration).

  • Familiarity with certification and compliance frameworks (ARP-4754 / ARP-4761, FAA/ANAC processes, product assurance).

  • Experience with digital maintainability tools and immersive evaluation (VR/AR) is a plus.
