Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA.

As an Electrical Systems Engineer, your responsibilities include resolving real-time technical problems and issues for airline operators. This involves responding to general systems inquiries, addressing short- and medium-term avionics and electrical-related problem reports, investigating long-term issues, and providing proactive fleet guidance. You will coordinate with operators to recover Airplane on Ground (AOG) situations, which may require troubleshooting over the phone across different time zones or traveling onsite to work with technicians to return grounded airplanes to service. Additionally, you will provide technical analysis on design and compliance requirements that address Safety Related Problems (SRP) and support Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP) projects. All tasks will be completed using the latest Boeing tools, technology, data analytics, and real-time fleet monitoring data.

Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis. Employees must be willing to work flexible hours and/or non-standard shifts to support our fleets. International and domestic travel may be required.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, design and documentation support for production aircraft, in-service aircraft, or material support issues.

  • Troubleshoot system problems consistent with operational protocols.

  • Support, create, and provide technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, Service Letters, Drawings, Specifications, Service Bulletins, Maintenance Manuals).

  • Ensure technical compliance to regulations by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing product testing.

  • Assist with the investigation of Safety Related Problems to provide interim actions and final engineering solutions.

  • Support and/or lead the research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.

  • Assist in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Evaluate complex system event reports to determine potential safety issues.

  • Travel to airline customer meetings and lead presentations that address top technical concerns, with travel not exceeding 10%.

Work Authorization Statement: 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Seal Beach, CA location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2 or more years’ of experience in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4 or more years’ experience of engineering, preferably in the aviation industry.

  • Proficiency in Electromagnetic Effects (EME) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).

  • Experience in electrical equipment installation and wire routing design.

  • Familiarity with design tools such as ENOVIA, CATIA V5, WIRS, PDM, and IVT is beneficial.

  • A willingness to expand into technical areas where prior experience may be lacking.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range:

  • Associate (Level 2): $98,600 - $133,400

  • Experienced (level 3): $119,850 - $162,150

  • Senior (Level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
