Introduction

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Entry Level Maintenance Engineer to support the Airplane Maintenance Engineering (AME) team in Seal Beach, California.

A Maintenance Engineer analyzes complex engineering designs and design changes to determine maintenance/repair requirements, procedures, and instructions; supports activities that influence product designs and processes to ensure supportability and maintainability; creates systems theory descriptions to ensure common understanding of systems and components; conducts engineering analysis to verify the accuracy of maintenance/repair data.

A Maintenance Engineer also develops and provides technical solutions to customers; evaluates customers' maintenance operations; guides the development of procedures and techniques to allow users to maintain and repair products; authors and guides changes in various airplane maintenance documents.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop, validate, and deliver technical data for airplane maintenance and fault isolation, ensuring adherence to Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and FAA/Foreign Regulatory standards

  • Analyzes complex engineering designs, supplier specifications, and engine manufacturer design data to identify and formulate maintenance, repair, and tooling support requirements. Develops configuration-specific procedures and instructions accordingly

  • Drives product designs and process improvements to ensure safety, supportability and maintainability

  • Develops and implements fault isolation procedures and techniques

  • Creates comprehensive system theory descriptions to ensure a common understanding of systems and components

  • Conducts engineering analyses to validate the accuracy of maintenance data

  • Collaborates with customers to address inquiries, develop technical solutions, and assess maintenance operations

  • Innovates new procedures and techniques to enhance product maintenance capabilities

  • Participates in organizational activities that influence the Aerospace Industry

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering

  • Experience reading and interpreting technical data

  • Current or prior Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration

  • Experience in either Propulsion, Avionics, Electrical, Communication, Navigation, Hydraulics, Mechanical Systems, Landing Gear, and/or Payloads/Interiors

  • Experience with REDARS, CATIA, ENOIVA & PSDS

Pay Range Summary:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $76,500 - $103,500
