Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced In-Service Chief Mechanic our to join our team in Seal Beach, CA.

Exciting opportunity to advocate for customer operations/maintenance disciplines within the enterprise.

Duties will include but not limited to:
Develop technical performance standards and champion research and development of maintenance related technologies for in-service fleets. Advise on regulatory matters and research emergent technical issues. Act as a key influencer on aircraft maintenance philosophy, maintenance and service on key performance indicators, aircraft/systems design and related deliverables. Determine the impact to aircraft maintenance/operations of systems design, tooling, facilities and supporting documents while acting as a liaison between the enterprise and customers on maintenance related issues.

In addition, the Chief Mechanic will interface directly with various Boeing technical organizations throughout an aircraft’s entire life cycle.  The Chief Mechanic charter is to provide Boeing Commercial Airplanes and our customers with a consistent approach to airplane maintenance philosophies and operational practices. This approach will ensure personal safety along with airplane maintainability. The Chief Mechanic will be an experienced aircraft maintenance professional who is the leading aircraft maintenance advocate. This requires extensive aircraft system, structural, and operational knowledge of Boeing aircraft in the commercial aviation industry. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential to support Boeing maintenance and reliability practices

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provides customer perspective on operations/maintenance disciplines within the enterprise, develops technical performance standards and researches and develops maintenance related technologies.
  • Participates in regulatory matters and assists with evaluating emergent technical issues.
  • Supports development of the aircraft maintenance philosophy and key performance indicators while contributing to aircraft/systems design and related deliverables.
  • Prepares assessments that will determine the impacts to aircraft maintenance/operations of systems designs, tooling, facilities and supporting documents while coordinating between local stakeholders and customers on maintenance related issues and acting to improve customer processes.
  • Provides on-site customer support related to maintenance issues.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • A&P license or equivalent commercial maintenance experience (i.e. EASA licensed mechanic).
  • 5+ years of experience preparing and presenting technical content (such as to a customer, a peer, a mechanic, an executive, etc.).
  • The applicant must be able to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering and 9+ years experience related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Boeing 7-Series aircrafts highly desired.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing content with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with key decision makers with the objective to become a trusted advisor and valued technical partner.
  • Prior experience in a customer service / customer facing role is highly desired
  • Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is preferred.
  • Experience with US and/or foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes (Part 25, Part 121, Part 145) is preferred.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $108,80.00 - $147,200.00
