Boeing Global Services (BGS) Engineering is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the BGS Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) Supplier Recovery Team in Seal Beach, California and Dallas, Texas.  The BGS SCE Supplier Recovery Team delivers engineering support for Supply Chain led supplier recovery operations and integrates across all business units and supplier facilities to achieve long-lasting Supply Chain Recovery. The role will drive supplier process investigations, implement corrective actions, and restore supplier production capability to meet delivery, quality, and cost commitments to BGS customers.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Work across business units and with suppliers to lead and support BGS SCE supplier recovery efforts, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and implementation of process improvements.
  • Conduct on-site supplier assessments (process, layout, tooling, work instructions, ergonomics) to identify root causes of quality, throughput, or schedule failures to support executive approved Supplier Recovery efforts and engagements in partnership with Global Field Operations, Supplier Management & Quality and Supply Chain Recovery teams.
  • Perform time and motion studies, capability analyses, and process validation to quantify recovery scope and define recovery plans.
  • Develop and drive supplier corrective action plans (SCARs), including short-term containment, medium-term fixes, and long-term process improvements.
  • Facilitate and support cross-functional recovery teams (Global Field Operations, Supplier Management & Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain Recovery teams) to align recovery priorities and milestones.
  • Use lean and industrial engineering tools (value stream mapping, SMED, 5S, standard work) to redesign supplier processes for stability and capacity.
  • Establish or refine supplier work standards, cycle times, staffing models, and production line balancing to meet program takt and schedule goals.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to monitor supplier process performance, define improvement metrics and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish planning and scheduling systems, forecast demand, develop strategic plans, conduct risk assessment and make/buy analyses and analyze new scheduling techniques for supplier recovery efforts.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Candidates must have a willingness and ability to travel regularly to supplier sites (Up to 50% of the time).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):   

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing engineering experience with demonstrable experience leading supplier recovery or supply chain remediation projects. Aerospace supplier experience preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience utilizing standard IE tools: time studies, work measurement, line balancing, value stream mapping, or ergonomic assessment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Strong experience with root cause corrective analysis and corrective action verification of manufacturing or repair processes
  • Proven ability to conduct supplier on-site assessments and implement process improvements.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for supplier engagement and cross-functional coordination.
  • Prior experience in aerospace sustainment, MRO, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with supplier quality systems (AS9100) and government/defense contracting supply chain requirements.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, contract remedies, and cost recovery principles.
  • Experience with leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier development, recovery or risk management.
  • Advanced Excel, data visualization or simulation modeling skills.
  • Boeing business knowledge and previous exposure to supply chain or supplier management — experience navigating BGS processes, procurement engagement, and supplier governance is highly desirable.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $92,650 - $125,350
