The Boeing Company is seeking a Flight Test Property Custodian to join our Equipment Management team in Seattle, WA.  This role is responsible for planning, managing, tracking, and maintaining all Flight Test Engineering (FTE) Capital and Expense assets used to certify Boeing Commercial and Military Derivative Airplanes (BCA/MDA). The custodian supports Flight Test Operations, maintains fleet-level equipment inventories, coordinates airplane equipment requests across multiple programs, and ensures compliance with enterprise accounting and property policies.

This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position that requires strong organizational skills, diligence in asset tracking, and the ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Flight Test Property Custodians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, track, maintain, and manage all FTE BCA/MDA Capital and Expense assets

  • Ensure assets are preserved, utilized, and accounted for according to Enterprise Accounting policies

  • Support day-to-day airplane test equipment needs in coordination with Instrumentation Operations teams and Flight Test Stores

  • Maintain and update accurate test equipment inventories across database systems and tools

  • Perform diligent asset tracking, reporting, and reconciliation; support capital inventory audits

  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventories to support test airplanes

  • Coordinate and communicate with airplane teams to ensure equipment availability and resolve issues

  • Collaborate with the Fleet Level Equipment Focal to address fleet-wide equipment concerns

  • Attend Instrumentation Operations and related meetings to communicate equipment status and resolve matters

  • Identify surplus equipment and support liquidation, replacement planning, and surplus processing

  • Coordinate equipment storage, intake, organization, and disposition with Flight Test Stores and Test Asset Management

  • Track and respond promptly to equipment requests, recurring issues, and priority demands

  • Assist with capacity and usage reporting for flight test equipment

  • Initiate Customer Requests and Service Requests for equipment fabrication, repairs, and purchases

  • Report and escalate unresolved or high-impact issues to the Fleet Level Equipment Lead

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

  • 1+ years of experience with Materials Management and Inventory in relation to Government and Capital property

  • 1+ years of experience using inventory/asset tracking systems and databases

  • 1+ years of experience supporting audits and inventory reconciliation, and physical inventory counts

  • 1+ years of experience supporting aviation, aerospace, defense, or flight test operations

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, manage competing deadlines, and follow tasks through to closure

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with experience coordinating across engineering, operations, and stores teams

  • Proactive problem-solving skills and sound judgment in escalating issues when appropriate

  • Comfortable handling, organizing, and inspecting hardware and test equipment; able to read part labels, serial numbers, and technical documentation

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic, multi-program environment and respond to time-sensitive equipment requests

  • Able to work independently on-site in Seattle and support activities that may require physical handling of equipment

  • Associate degree or technical certification in logistics, supply chain, aviation maintenance, or related field

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Accounting policies related to Capital and Expense asset management

  • Experience with enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, CMMS, or ERP inventory modules (e.g., SAP, Maximo)

  • Experience coordinating surplus property processes, asset disposition, and liquidation planning

  • Knowledge of test instrumentation, avionics, or airborne data-acquisition systems

  • Experience creating and managing Customer or Service Requests for fabrication, repair, and procurement

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Associate Level (Level 2):  $56,950 – $77,050

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3):  $68,000 – $92,000
