The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Information Technology Business Operations Senior Manager / Deputy Chief of Staff to join the team in Seattle, WA or North Charleston, SC

This role reports to the Chief of Staff to the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Chief Information Officer (CIO).

As Deputy Chief of Staff, you will partner with Executive Director Chiefs of Staff to accelerate strategic priorities, ensure program delivery, and operationalize strategy. You will translate strategy into action—shaping priorities across divisions, platforms, and operations—and drive the CIO’s agenda with clarity and momentum. Responsibilities include managing the operating rhythm, preparing executive and board-level communications, anticipating and mitigating risks, and acting as a proxy when needed.

The ideal candidate is a decisive problem solver with a “get-it-done” attitude who removes obstacles and delivers results while aligning daily activities to a broader operating model. You will be a trusted thought partner and force multiplier, helping advance the organization’s North Star strategic ambitions.

This high-visibility role offers unparalleled exposure to enterprise-scale decision-making, the chance to influence global outcomes, and accelerated growth as a senior technology leader. It is well suited for someone who thrives in complexity, values discretion and trust, and wants a front-row seat to how mission-critical technology organizations execute strategic vision. This position strengthens the BCA CIO office and supports senior leader development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operate with discretion on sensitive matters

  • Provide oversight of actions related to operations, risk, and portfolio/financial management; ensure consistent follow-through

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, encouraging team members to share ideas and best practices

  • Demonstrate versatility and resilience in navigating challenges and adapting to changing business needs

  • Coordinate across the CIO’s leadership team to build alignment, remove blockers, and track commitments to closure

  • Provide coaching and direction to the Executive Director Chiefs of Staff to support their leadership development and enhance organizational effectiveness

  • Build and maintain operational rhythms, including regular meetings, reporting, and performance metrics to ensure alignment and accountability across teams

  • Prepare materials for executive meetings, including presentations, reports, and strategic documents

  • Produce clear, timely business performance updates and executive scorecards that drive leadership decisions

  • Maintain dashboards and executive metrics (Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) to ensure alignment to strategic priorities and enable fact-based course corrections

  • Translate complex data into concise, actionable narratives and recommendations for senior leaders

  • Act as a strategic partner: anticipate needs, identify opportunities to scale or simplify work, and ensure initiatives align to the Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) vision and roadmap

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across the organization, ensuring effective communication and alignment on strategic priorities

  • Support development and vetting of multi-year business cases and priority setting for strategic initiatives

  • Monitor budget-to-actuals and recommend course corrections

  • Coordinate workforce and resourcing requests through intake, prioritization, and approval (Leadership Team (LT), Human Resource (HR), Finance) - ensuring healthy backlog management for the organization

  • Work with leadership team to manage headcount forecasts in Adaptive Planning

  • Prepare executive communications including memos, talking points, and presentations

  • Be the “nervous system” of the organization: ensure timely, consistent communication across regions and stakeholders

  • Facilitate regional leadership meetings and regular Employee Briefings, including general management of the meeting, agenda and content preparation, and notes dissemination

  • Conjunction with product / service / program managers, support preparation of presentations to stakeholders on strategic initiative progress and business case development
