Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Materials Management Operations Manager to lead and grow a team that delivers parts and kits to flight test, lab test, and government program activities in Seattle, WA. This hands-on management role will ensure readiness, schedule adherence, technical quality, and safety across materials management operation activities that directly enable test campaigns and program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of technicians, planners, material coordinators, and logistics/support personnel performing materials management operations activities

  • Plan staffing, assign tasks, set priorities, conduct performance reviews, and maintain coverage for scheduled and emergent test and program work

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent; establish training and certification plans to maintain required skills and regulatory compliance

  • Foster a safety-first, quality-focused culture and enforce standard work, SOPs, and continuous improvement practices

Materials Management Operations & Program Support

  • Oversee day-to-day materials management operations supporting flight test, lab test, and government programs, HAZMAT, FAST Manufacturing, Tool Rooms, Expediters, Material Specialists

  • Coordinate with test engineers, program leads, government liaisons, and suppliers to prioritize work, manage dependencies, and mitigate schedule risk

  • Ensure configuration control, technical documentation, tagging, and property accountability for company and government-furnished assets

  • Approve work packages, inspect completed tasks for compliance with engineering requirements, and support non-conformance resolution and corrective actions

  • Manage vendor/contractor relationships for specialty services and equipment support; negotiate service levels and monitor performance

Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements (OSHA, DOT, DCMA where applicable, environmental, and government program stipulations)

  • Maintain and enforce training, certification, and equipment competency (e.g., lifting equipment, tooling, PPE)

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions

  • Implement process improvements to increase throughput, reduce rework, and improve first-time-right delivery to test events

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, track cost drivers, and recommend cost-avoidance strategies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing support

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in supply chain or materials management

  • 10+ years of experience working in a team environment and communicating clearly with both internal and external customers

  • 10+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams

  • 10+ years of experience collecting, interpreting data, and managing high level projects for Executives or Senior Leadership

  • 10+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams

  • 10+ years of experience in managing a portfolio of projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in strategy development and integration

  • Analytical skills, problem solving, critical thinking and leading cross functionality

  • Experience in directly supporting a proprietary program

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $108,800 – $147,200
